Is there anything that I can do to prevent my premium from increasing? There are many actions with little or no cost that can be done. Tip 10 – Service Stations Often over the years retailers have commented on what seems to be the unusually high cover limit under the Public Liability covered under the ShoProtect Policy, (The limit is €6,500,000.) I immediately reply “Service Stations!” Escape of fuel from fuel tanks can lead to pollution of land and worse – waterways! I won’t say that it has happened frequently but on the few occasions that it has, the claims costs have been extraordinary. Never mind the high cost of the fuel lost. Think of the potential cost of the clean-up that the Service Station operator will be held legally liable for! If you are a Service Station operator, are you aware that you have a statutory obligation to have your tanks pressure tested a minimum of once every two years? When is the last time you had this test carried out? Do you have a record of the test on file? You also have a statutory obligation to have your air receivers inspected annually. If you require any Statutory Inspection cover, please contact us as we can arrange this for you. One of the standard exclusions on all insurance policies is Damage caused by Error or Omission on the part of the Insured or any of their Employees. Accidentally indicating the wrong fuel tank for fuel type to delivery driver!!! Not covered!! Always remember – call us to discuss any/every incident. We will advise and guide you. |
