Is there anything that I can do to prevent my premium from increasing?
There are many actions with little or no cost that can be done.

Tip 19 – Theft

Please be aware that we are entering the height of the season for the crime of theft in all its’ horrific forms.

Armed robbery – As I said before, these are at an all time high. Amounts taken are regularly small but the risk of trauma and/or physical injury is of a much greater concern. Remember a) keep amounts in tills to an absolute minimum and b) train your staff “NO HEROICS!” If under threat, don’t resist.

Theft of Cash – so often lifted from an unlocked office. What can I say? Be diligent not stupid!

Burglary/Forced Entry – Be alert – check all entrances for security – check roof/ceiling. Is your alarm the best you can get? Is your alarm linked by phone line only? If so do you realize that it will be rendered useless if cut? Have you upgraded to duel link?

Tiger Kidnapping – Is your house alarmed? Do you have a Time Lock and/or a Time Delay Lock on your safe? Do you have prominent signage in your shop saying so? Don’t make it easy for these dangerous criminals! Separate keys between two people.
