Tip 20 – Burglaries – Protect your family home!

Two weeks ago we warned you that we were coming into that time of year when theft is at its worst. Well we’re there now folks believe me.

Recent reports from An Garda Siochana show a quite literally horrifying number of instances of break-ins to homes. Forced entry through windows and doors. Property damaged, personal belongings and valuables stolen. There is no way to describe the upset and devastation inflicted upon families that we have experienced following such crimes against our policyholders.

I constantly ask myself why it is that the people I know with the best protections are those who have done so after they have fallen victim to the crime.

Are your homes as secure as they should be? I know that it’s easy to take the view that “it doesn’t matter how well protected you are because they’ll get in if they really want to”, but take it from me, the more difficult you make it for them will send them on to “an easier victim.”

How good are your locks on doors and windows? Is your intruder alarm adequate?
